La Semana Santa es nuestra conmemoración y celebración anual del acto de amor sacrificial y triunfante de Jesús, al completar Él su misión aquí en la tierra. Esto ocurrió tras tres años de ministerio, durante los cuales demostró su propósito a sus discípulos y estableció lo que se convertiría en la nueva iglesia. A medida que se acercaba aquel día trascendental, Jesús se dirigió hacia Jerusalén; allí entró, fue arrestado, flagelado, sentenciado y crucificado. Al morir, declaró: «Consumado Es», dando a entender que su misión en la tierra había llegado a su fin. Tras su resurrección, se apareció a cientos de personas, impartió sus últimas instrucciones y, finalmente, ascendió a los cielos para ocupar su lugar a la diestra del Padre. Lo que esto significa para nosotros —quienes ahora estamos sentados en Él «en los lugares celestiales»— es que poseemos su vida y su victoria. En esta serie, profundizaremos en esta poderosa obra de gracia, manifestada en la persona de Cristo Jesús. ¡Su sacrificio por nosotros lo cambió todo!
En esta Pt. 2, celebramos el Domingo de Ramos: el momento en que Jesús entró en Jerusalén. Fue un momento poderoso, aunque —tal como vimos el domingo pasado— no de la manera que ellos esperaban. Jesús no entró como un rey terrenal. Los reinos terrenales surgen y caen; el Reino de Dios, en cambio, se sustenta en el amor de Dios y es eterno. Veamos.

Holy Week is our annual remembrance and celebration of Jesus' sacrificial and triumphant act of love as He completed His mission here on earth. After three years of ministry, demonstrating His purpose to His disciples and establishing what was to become the new church. As the fateful day approached, Jesus moved toward Jerusalem, entered in where He was arrested, beaten, sentenced and put upon a cross. As He died, He declared "It is finished," meaning that His mission was complete on earth. After His resurrection, He appeared to hundreds, gave final instructions and finally ascended into the sky, to His seat at the right hand of the Father. What this means to us, who are now seated in Him 'in heavenly places,' is that we now have His life and victory. In this series we'll look at this powerful work of grace manifest in the person of Christ Jesus. His sacrifice for us changed everything!
In this Pt. 2, we are celebrating Palm Sunday, the moment when Jesus entered into Jerusalem. It was a powerful moment, but as we looked at last Sunday, not in the way they expected. Jesus didn't enter in like an earthly king. Earthly kingdoms rise and fall. The Kingdom of God is fueled by God's love and is eternal. Let's take a look.
